At the end of September, Cody, Aaron Lunsford, Lindsey and the Lockstep team went out to Vashon Island for both a living room show and to record the music video for “mr. villainous.”
How did all this come to be?
Sprinkle had an idea for this music video and knew that the only way he’d be able to get Cody from Louisiana to Vashon, WA would be to make sure As Cities Burn didn’t have to come out of pocket. So he booked a living room show. Done! Now he gets his video AND he created a wonderful and beautiful experience for a handful of ACB fans.
It was really a cool experience getting to witness Sprinkle in action. This is his third music video he’s dreamed up and directed.
Sprinkle joked about him and Steven Spielberg being the same person when it comes to how they capture in 1-2 takes and then move on (I don’t know much about Spielberg so I’ll take Sprinkle’s word).
(I laugh but he’s right. Aaron Sprinkle and Steven Spielberg, practically the same person.)
The final video for “mr. villainous” is out now on YT. I’d highly recommend spending a few minutes to check it out.
I think one of the wildest things about this video is the tools that Sprinkle and Lindsey used to capture everything. Small gimbals. It just goes to show that size does not matter when it comes to video cameras. The quality is unreal.
And the turn around time, my god! Sprinkle had this video complete ONE DAY after filming was finished!
Sprinkle had the idea.
Found a way to make it happen.
Booked and coordinated a living room show.
Created a shot list.
Shot the video with Lindsey.
And did the full edit IN ONE DAY.
There’s no question that Sprinkle is a lifelong learner and doer. He became interested in making videos just earlier this year and he’s already made three really beautiful videos (one being Emery’s “Slurry” music video, and the other one for “war of God of peace” which has not been released yet).
This is your sign…if you want to learn something, go learn it. Go make it up and make it happen. You are in control of what you do in this life. Don’t wait for someone else to make things happen for you, cause that time ain’t coming my friend.

(First video is a slideshow of all the unedited pictures that Matt Carter and I captured during the trip. Maybe we should have edited the pics, but—)
